Scholarships & Financial Aid

Academic Scholarship

If you are planning to join the Marist DPT program in January 2025 or thereafter, you may qualify for one of the following DPT Academic Scholarships.

  • Applicants with a minimum 3.3 - 3.59 cumulative overall GPA (as calculated in PTCAS) qualify for $7,500/year ($22,500 total)
  • Applicants with a minimum 3.6 cumulative overall GPA (as calculated in PTCAS) qualify for $10,500/year ($31,500 total)

Both awards are renewable on an annual basis provided the recipient maintains a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA. Eligibility for this scholarship does not guarantee admission into the program. Demonstrated financial need is not required to be eligible and scholarships are awarded upon admission.

The following information is related to outside scholarship opportunities for the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program. In addition to these outside resources, we encourage you to reach out to present or future employers for potential employee benefit opportunities they may offer to you as a present or future employee.

  • : The Occupational/Physical Therapy Scholarship, in the amount of $2,000, is awarded to two students who are in financial need and have been accepted or are attending an accredited school of occupational therapy (including art, music, or physical therapy). Financial Aid

Need-based aid is available to those who meet eligibility. Students interested in applying for need-based aid must file the . For additional information, please contact the Office of Student Financial Services at 845-575-3230. The , a federal budget reconciliation package signed into law on July 4, 2025, includes several significant changes to federal student aid that will take effect on July 1, 2026.

Unsubsidized Federal Direct Loan:

Loan Limits

  • Graduate student borrowing is capped at $10,250 per term and the aggregate limit will be $100,000. This does not include amounts borrowed as an undergraduate.
  • Borrowers who are both graduate and professional students at some point in their educational careers may only borrow up to $200,000 in total for graduate and professional school.
  • The lifetime limit for student borrowers will be $257,500 across undergraduate, graduate, and professional educational careers (does not include Parent PLUS Loan borrowed on behalf of a student).

Graduate PLUS Loan

  • Graduate PLUS Loans will no longer be available to new borrowers starting July 1, 2026.
  • Legacy Provision: Students with a federal loan disbursed before July 1, 2026, for the student鈥檚 current degree program may continue to borrow under the current loan limits for 3 academic years or until the difference between the total length of the program the borrower is enrolled in and the period of the borrower has already completed.
    • Once provision is broken, student is subject to new limits

  • Students may consider private loan options from our established . These lenders were chosen because of their exemplary service and financing options that provide a wide range of borrower's benefits. Students are not limited to this list and may choose any lender.
